Instructions for Care: Your Wooden Cake Topper
You’ve just purchased a cake topper from The Creative Makamae, now what?
Well, there a few things to know and this post is for you!
Your Cake Topper:
Your cake topper is made out of wood and we left it bare so you could customize it as you see fit (i.e. painting it a certain color to match your event).
Please note, your cake topper is fragile. We couldn’t make it too thick right?
If you would like to “seal it” to protect it after painting, mineral oil is a food safe oil and helps to create a seal on your product so you can reuse it over and over.
So, how do you use it?
Well, on your cake of course ☺️ BUT, because it is made out of wood and it is cut to a certain thickness. It is fragile. To place in your cake, it is recommended to:
Hold where the stick and the bottom of the cake topper meets.
Gently guide the cake topper into your cake.
And, BOOM KANANI, there you go.
We’re ready to eat the cake! Now what?
First thing, remove the cake topper the same way you put it in.
If you are planning on reusing this topper, wipe off the stick (or anywhere cake icing touched) with a wet paper towel as best you can.
Let it air dry and set it aside for the next time you’ll use it.
My cake topper looks like it needs a little love. What should I do?
Your cake topper may be due for a fresh oil.
Before doing so, make sure your topper is completely dry.
Using mineral oil (or any other food-grade, wood safe oil you prefer), cover both sides of the cake topper with oil.
Let it sit for at least 1-2 days prior to use so it seals.
We appreciate your purchase! 💖
